Kings Canyon National Park, CaliforniaKings Canyon is a National Park divided...that is one part of it is an island of sorts, surrounded by national forest and separated from the actual canyon the park is named for. Most people are familiar with the actual canyon area and that was indeed a wonderful area to explore. One of my personal favorite hikes from our entire CA Parks tour was to Zumwalt Meadows at the far end of the canyon.
Higher up above the canyon floor is the isolated part of the park that boasts giant sequoia trees similar to those seen in Sequoia NP. Sequoia NP and Kings Canyon NP are often visited together. We really liked exploring the canyon floor and it wasn't crowed like a lot of other areas are. Check out the inspiration photos and think about including a stop here on your next family vacation in CA. |
